SIR - Re Colin Durkin's letter (T&A April 3). Yes Colin, we do agree and support your letter, indeed about 16 years ago on the Odeon issue, being the first to object to the councillors on their proposed demolition.
Regarding any proposal for an office block over looking City Park would be completely wrong, and no way sensible planning. Indeed in 2003 the town planners of the day stated that the area of Manchester Road to the end of Thornton Road formed an interesting crescent of excellent buildings, and should be preserved for leisure use only, thus it has been known as the 'West End of Bradford'.
Now did those paid employees know what they were talking about? Yes sir, they certainly did. We do hope that today's councillors will NOT be encouraged by anyone to allow a commercial enterprise such as an office block in City Park.
Councillors, we have got our eyes and ears on you!
Norman and Julie Littlewood, Huddersfield Road, Wyke
