SIR - The comments of your newspaper’s former editor were very interesting regarding the car parking situation at Valley Parade for supporters attending by car. However it appeared to offer little alternative to the current struggle for a place to park within reasonable distance to/from the stadium?

I wonder if there is a ‘threshold’ as to where is simply ‘too far away’ to make the use of personal transport seem rather pointless?

Ironically, the home of The Bantams shares a common theme with Wembley! Apart from the match itself, the location of the stadium provides nothing to keep supporters in the locality beyond the final whistle so the exodus home is always a scramble.

I attended a game at the Etihad over in Manchester and learned a city centre return ticket by tram is futile. Getting to the stadium is a doddle, but full time – forget it!

One can look at car parking in different ways - restrictive or formulated to enable ‘everyone', on wheels or foot, to can enjoy the game with the least aggravation possible.

If the club's future lies in its current home, it may as well make the effort now on the parking situation.
