SIR - In light of the recent article about Bradford Community Housing Trust providing tenants in the Canterbury estate area with fruit trees (T&A, February 2), it is ironic and somewhat puzzling that another local housing association - Brunel (part of the Yorkshire Housing Group) - have removed 80 healthy trees in Manningham as part of the St Paul's conservation area, with the full co-operation of the Council, because they were deemed to be of "low amenity value", despite the fact that these trees were very much enjoyed by the tenants themselves.
