PUPILS at a number of Bradford schools have learned about the important work done by the city’s foodbanks.
Schools involved in the Exceed Teaching alliance have been learning about foodbanks over the past several weeks.
As part of their project a number of schools have collected food, and recently made a major donation of goods to the Bradford Metropolitan Foodbank.
A group of pupils and parents visited the foodbank to hand the food over, and to see firsthand how they work.
Schools involved included Copthorne Primary, Farnham Primary, Lidget Green Primary, Horton Park Primary and Princeville Primary.
Nadia Hussain, Leader of Extended Learning and Services, said: “The different school council came up with the project. A number of kids visited to the foodbank to see how they spread the items about. The children and parents were quite surprised at how many people needed foodbanks and how many food parcels were needed.
