Generous families at Miriam Lord Primary School collected hundreds of tins and packets of food for a harvest celebration and to donate to the local food bank.

Produce for the Harvest Assembly was displayed in the school hall, along with a large scarecrow to remind pupils about how food is grown.

This is the third year the Manningham school has collected harvest gifts to donate to the Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank. This year the school linked with nearby Westbourne Primary which has a year-round food collection.

Head of School Steven Young said: “We want to thank parent and pupils for their generosity which made the harvest appeal a great success. We are proud to work with the Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank who are one of the largest providers of emergency food to the residents of Bradford.”
