THE outgoing head of a Baildon primary school has been praised for “maintaining a high quality.”

Lynda Florence, head of Hoyle Court Primary on Fyfe Grove, is retiring this week, but before she left Ofsted released an inspection report that said the school has maintained the “good” rating it was given in 2012.

A letter sent to Mrs Florence from Ofsted says: “You have created a staff team with a shared commitment to ongoing improvement.

“There is a strong commitment to developing pupils’ wider personal and emotional well-being.”

Mrs Florence, head at the school for over eight years, said: “This is wonderful news for us all at Hoyle Court.

"Pupils, staff, Governors, parents and the wider community are rightly very pleased with this positive outcome and I would like to thank them all for their hard work which has enabled us to achieve this.

“On a personal level this is the icing on the cake for me as I will be retiring at the end of the summer term, so to be leaving on such a positive note is really rewarding.”

Councillor Imran Khan, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Education, Employment and Skills, said: “This is excellent news for Hoyle Court Primary and all those who have worked so hard to secure this positive achievement will be rightly very proud.

"Mrs Florence will retire safe in the knowledge that this has been a job well done and I wish her all the very best for the future.”
