A GIRLS’ secondary school in Bradford continues to improve, according to inspectors.

Belle Vue Girls School, in Heaton was judged good by Ofsted in 2012, and on a recent follow up visit inspectors said that standard had been maintained.

It was the first inspection since the school became an academy, working with the Bradford Diocese Academies Trust.

A letter from Ofsted to head Mary Copeland said: “You and your team’s work to develop the effectiveness of teaching has led to an overall improvement in the progress that pupils make across a range of subjects.

“The difference between the progress that disadvantaged and other pupils make is reducing and pupils who arrive with low levels of attainment now make the most rapid progress.

“Pupils talk about feeling safe and how well they are cared for.”
