CHILDREN’s illustrator and author Simon Murray has inspired pupils at a Bradford school to read more and create their own artworks.
The author of books like Icky Doo Dah visited St Matthew’s CE Primary last week, and held sessions with children.
During the sessions, the children created artwork of their own and the most impressive illustrations in the school will be put on Icky’s online gallery.
The Author Day is a number of events the school is holding, or has been involved in, to help inspire children to read.
Acting Head Kay Remmer said: “Our Author Days are proving to be a great success with the children, who really enjoyed the sessions with Simon Murray.
“St Matthew’s is working really hard to encourage all children to develop a love of books.”
