A BRADFORD primary has just finished a two week look at the importance of remembrance.

Wibsey Primary expanded on the idea of Remembrance Day to look at issues around conflict, peace and how we remember those who gave their lives in war.

The school put to good use its reflection space which was covered in poppies and photographs and artefacts from past wars and conflicts.

The reflection space was created as part of a makeover of the small hall which included creating a new library and IT resource and learning area.

One of the themes children will be looking at will be the parallels with 21st century conflicts compared to the two world wars

Headteacher Nigel Cooper said: “We believe it is important for children of all ages to reflect on remembrance and our reflection space was a focal point for this. We are not just asking the children to focus on the past, but to compare what happened in the past with what is happening now.”
