A PRIMARY school has installed three outdoor play areas to help younger pupils’ move to their next year groups easier.
Lister Primary School in Manningham has set up the outside spaces to allow better transition for pupils as they move from their more play based early years at the school to the more classroom based environments from Year 1 onwards.
Earlier this year the school re-modelled two outdoor areas to provide the extra play spaces for children, and over the summer holidays used school funds to create a third play space, this one for younger children, on an un-used piece of land. It features a water wall, climbing frame and other equipment to make the transition into Year 1 easier for pupils.
The school’s early years provision was rated good in its last Ofsted inspection in June 2015.
The Scotchman Road school will be showing off their outdoor areas during an open afternoon which is being held tomorrow from 1pm to 3pm.
