A COMIC book artist taught pupils from Bradford schools how to tell stories with pictures at an event in City Library yesterday.
Yorkshire artist Doctor Simpo held the comic art workshop as part of Children’s Book Week, a week long celebration of literature.
Children from schools across the district have already had the chance to speak with top children’s authors, but at yesterday’s event pupils learned that books and stories don’t have to just be writing on a page.
The event was held in partnership with the Thought Bubble festival in Leeds - which has seen comics and graphic novels handed out in libraries across the district.
The workshop involved Year 4 pupils from Bankfoot Primary School and Year 5 Pupils from Shibden Head Primary School learning how to create their own exaggerated comic book characters, invent a fact-file and learn some drawing techniques.
Earlier this week Jamila Gavin visited City Library and Manningham Library to talk about her books, and today author Margaret Mulligan visits Ilkley Library from 10.30am to 11.30am.
