Miriam Lord Primary School in Manningham is celebrating gaining an online safety award.

The school recently achieved the 360 degree safe E-Safety Mark after a rigorous assessment.

South West Grid for Learning Trust praised the school for providing “a high level of protection for users of the new technologies.”

The school had to show it provided a high standard of education and awareness for staff, pupils, parents and carers, to ensure they know how to be safe online.

Ian Hayslop, ICT leader (pictured) said: “We educated parents, carers and pupils about e-safety at a number of assemblies and events. Our Digital Leaders, Year 5 pupils who support children with their ICT skills, did a lot of e-safety sessions with fellow pupils. They also made e-safety videos and podcasts which were put on our blog.”

Bryan Harrison, Executive Head, said: “The whole school community was involved in learning about the importance of staying safe online. We are proud of the efforts everyone made to gain the award, but it doesn’t end there, and we plan to continue promoting online safety.”

Ron Richards, lead assessor for the E-Safety Mark, said: “I want to congratulate Miriam Lord Primary School on its success. It is re-assuring to know that the school has put a lot of thought and effort into improving the online safety of the staff and children, by addressing these important safeguarding issues.”
