INSPECTORS have praised the “utterly dedicated” leaders of a Bradford school that has shown huge improvement over the past two years.

Cavendish Primary School in Eccleshill was judged to require improvement after it was visited by Ofsted inspectors in 2014, but in their most recent report they have judged the school good in every category from pupils’ behaviour to teaching.

The report states: “Standards are rising and pupils make good progress in all subjects.

“The school has been successful in raising standards for boys in particular.

“School leaders are utterly dedicated to the school and have been successful in driving improvements in teaching.

“There is a strong, caring ethos and expectations are high.

“Parents are happy with the school, with most saying they would recommend it to others.”

Head teacher Noreen Dunn said: “We are extremely proud of our progress to date and Ofsted’s judgement highlights our overriding commitment to provide excellence for everyone.

“It has been an incredible journey and everyone has risen to the challenge. This is a terrific outcome and demonstrates the significant progress we have made over the last few years.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our pupils, parents/carers, staff, governors and our partner schools for all their hard work, support and dedication in helping make Cavendish the wonderful and welcoming school that it is.”
