It’s blooming beautiful in Baildon this spring.
The village is reaping the rewards of the work of Baildon In Bloom volunteers who planted hundreds of daffodil bulbs around the village as part of their Golden Daffodils For Spring promotion.
Residents rallied round with bulb donations, many of which were planted by rehabilitating offenders involved in West Yorkshire Probation Service’s Community Payback scheme.
The host of daffodils are aimed at wooing Yorkshire In Bloom competition judges who are due to inspect the village next Monday afternoon.
Baildon In Bloom committee members are gunning for their first ever Gold Award in this year’s regional contest after achieving a Silver Gilt last year.
Committee members Wendy Shaw and Don Edbury joined Ron Bairstow in urging residents to keep streets and gardens clean and tidy.
