A cobbler who has served two South Craven villages for the past 35 years is retiring.
Malcolm Calvert, who ran The Shoe Shop on Main Street, Cross Hills, is handing over the business to his daughter, Lesley.
Mr Calvert operated in the communities of Glusburn and Cross Hills for nearly 35 years.
Mr Calvert started off working at Coombes shoe repair shop in Keighley before deciding to open his own business in Glusburn.
The Shoe Shop opened in a building across the street from Glusburn Primary School and moved to its current location in Cross Hills 14 years later, where it has remained for 20 years.
Mr Calvert, who lives in Keighley said: “I have plenty to keep me occupied in retirement. I have a caravan that I didn’t have time to use and I also enjoy fishing, cycling and photography.”
