Actress Jenny Agutter led a charity walk based on the film The Railway Children which she starred in nearly forty years ago – as well as taking time to sign copies of the Illustrated Railway Children book for which she wrote the foreword.
Yesterday’s walk began and ended in Haworth Park, Haworth, and took in several locations made famous by the film.
Landmarks included the Bronte Parsonage Museum, the Tourist Information centre – used in the film as the butcher’s shop, and Oakworth Station.
The six-mile circular walk was organised to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity the actress supports as her niece has the condition.
Tina Davis-Johnstone said: “This is the eighth year we have staged this event and it gets ever more popular each year “We are absolutely delighted that Jenny Agutter came along this year and we are grateful to Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and Haworth village for all their support.”
The previous walks have raised more than £70,000 for the charity.
Miss Agutter is a Bafta and Emmy award-winning actress.
