These youngsters from Eldwick Primary School met Robbie the robo-pharmacist on his first day at work at Baskind Pharmacy in the village this week.
They were asked to come up with a name for him and draw their version of the device, with its special dispensing powers.
The children went along to the pharmacy at the Oak Glen development on Swan Avenue to see him for themselves.
It was pupil Imogen White, aged nine, who came up with the winning name. Nine-year-old classmates Thomas Smith and Ellie Hargreaves were runners-up.
Pharmacy manager Stacey Davidson said: “The imagination and ideas the children produced were great. Many included the pharmacy green cross which shows children know what the symbol represents.”
The Consis B3 robot is a computer storing 80 per cent of dispensing products kept at the pharmacy.
