Bulls should fear us, says Clayton

Castleford's Ryan Clayton has warned the Bulls: We're close to getting things spot on.

The basement dwellers may have only tasted victory once in eight Super League games since winning promotion but they are still roaring.

Utility man Clayton reckons they don't deserve to be holding up the rest and are primed to go on a hot streak any time soon.

Cas's one success came with a scintillating attacking display against champions Leeds and they only lost to second-placed Warrington right at the death on Easter Monday.

"That was pretty disappointing, losing in the last minute," Clayton admitted.

"It left the boys hurting but we're looking at putting it right straight away against Bradford.

"If you look at our games we could so easily have eight points which is right up there at the top.

"We lost in the last minute versus Harlequins and Warrington and could easily have beaten Catalans on the first night.

"Having defeated Leeds, we're disappointed we've not managed to get more than two points.

"We know we've got the plays but sometimes it's about putting attack and defence together.

"We've been unlucky on some occasions and come very close but we know we've got it in us to both keep sides out and score plenty of points. We're sure if we get one it'll breed that winning mentality and we'll get on a roll. One will turn into two or three and we just need that victory to get our season going and that's what we plan to do against Bradford."

The former Halifax player, 25, was in the Cas side that gave Steve McNamara's giants a scare during a Challenge Cup clash at Odsal last season.

Despite then being in National League One, the Tigers almost caused an upset before going down 24-16. And Clayton admitted that memory instils plenty of confidence.

"We ran them close and a lot of the lads were involved in that match," he said.

"This time we're not looking at going close, we're looking at coming away with our second win of the season and there's no reason why we can't.

"We're all looking at raising it a notch on Sunday."

Well done Ryan, there's nothing like peeing on an electric fence!

If the Bulls want to win this one they must play better than against quins. Cas will always raise their game against Bulls, as against Leeds. Great chance for Bulls to get some confidence back.

Simon Parker thinks the people who are concerned at the way Bulls are playing (or not playing) are 'know it alls' Yet his prediction of an immaculate come-back by the Bulls surely puts him in the same category?? Come on Simon we all have a right toour opinion.

Saints and Wigan have the 'infrastructure' at coaching level to correct their own dip in form. Do the Bulls have the ability to correct theirs. You have to wonder.

Dont worry about the Bulls coaching infastructure. They recruit all their staff from the best amateur sides in and around Bradford these days.
