    Macca wary of dangerous Tigers
Cas showed against Leeds they can be a match for anyone, says Steve McNamara
Cas showed against Leeds they can be a match for anyone, says Steve McNamara

Bulls boss Steve McNamara is expecting Sunday's arrival of Castleford to provide a potentially classic contest.

The newly-promoted side are Super League's basement boys with just one win to their name.

But that sole victory was a breathtaking destruction of Leeds Rhinos - the champions' only defeat this season - and it did enough to warn McNamara of the Tigers' genuine threat.

He said: "I've watched all the games on Sky this season and the way Cas played that night was as good as anything I've seen yet.

"They were striking from all over the pitch against Leeds with some quality football.

"They have it in them to be very, very competitive and the men to play some really good rugby league.

"Ryan McGoldrick and Luke Dorn are running fast and Brent Sherwin is controlling things.

"They were unlucky to lose right at the death against Warrington on Monday and we know they are dangerous."

However, McNamara has sensed his own side - who have won three of the last four without really shining - are ready to deliver a big performance of their own.

"The players have had a couple of days off and are still in the process of recovering after the busy Easter spell," added the Odsal chief.

"There's been some real positive signs though and they want to get back out there.

"I don't think any side, apart from Leeds, has consistently played well this season and that has shown in the results so far.

"But we know we need to improve and the quicker the better.

"We've worked on some things that should help us do that against Castleford and I think it's all set for a great game."

I'd rather he says he's wary of them than tell us what a classic to expect as he did prior to Leeds. He has every right to be wary as Cas can be dangerous.
