Detectives have questioned more than 50 motorists in a bid to identify a man who tried to abduct a 14-year-old girl.

Officers held an information seek' at the scene of the attempted abduction, in Oakenshaw, Bradford, a week after it happened.

They spent an hour yesterday stopping drivers in Mill Carr Hill Road in the hope of tracing anyone who had been in the area a week earlier.

Acting Detective Inspector Ian Lawrence, of Bradford South CID, said several potential witnesses had been identified.

The schoolgirl was attacked at 11am on Thursday, October 4, as she walked under the M606 motorway bridge in Mill Carr Hill Road.

A shiny dark-blue Mercedes van pulled up and the driver got out and tried to drag her into the back. But she escaped.

The suspect was Asian,in his 20s, of medium build and 5ft 10ins. He had bushy eyebrows and brown hair, shaved at the back and sides in a curtain style. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, baggy jeans and white trainers. The van had black wing mirrors and no glass in the back doors.
