A woman driver had to be cut free from her wrecked BMW after a crash outside a pub.
Emergency services including firefighters from Illingworth and Fairweather Green were called to the scene outside the Brown Cow at the junction with Denholme Gate Road and Halifax Road, Thornton, just after 9pm yesterday.
Fire crews had to use cutting gear to release the woman who was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
A second woman, who had been driving the other vehicle involved in the collision, a silver Peugeot 206, was also taken to hospital.
Neither driver's injuries are believed to be life threatening.
Police had to close off the road because of spilled oil from both cars. It was reopened a short time later.
