Information is being sought about a local man – Private William Edward Lawson who served with the Seaforth Highlanders from 1940 to 1947.
He married Irene Duerdon in 1941 and we think Royal British Legion members might be able to help.

* You might like to go down to the Cenotaph today (Tuesday) for 11.00 hours and see the unveiling of a commemorative stone to the Polish Ex-Combatants Association. Sorry there was no warning but I received the information late.
* The RAF 218 (Gold Coast) Squadron association’s 17th reunion will be from Friday, July 10, to Sunday, July 12.

* The new Lord Mayor will be sworn in at a service in the Cathedral on Saturday, July 4. Be in Centenary Square by 10.00 hours. Standards are welcome and after the service is a parade back to the Square and a march past.
* There is a reunion for all who served in Gibraltar from January 1, 1977, to December 31, 1979.
