A motor dealership is continuing to invest in its training by taking on a new apprentice, Jake Burgoyne, 19 from Yeadon, has started a three-year apprenticeship to train as a car technician at Polar Ford.
Jake, a former Benton Park High School student, undertook a range practical training for a NVQ qualification.
He will work in various areas of Polar Ford’s service department before becoming a fully trained Ford Retail technician.
Mark Knapton, Polar Ford’s general manager, said: “Our training scheme will equip Jake with the skills and knowledge he needs to become a top technician.”
In spite of the tough climate, Polar Ford, part of the Ford Retail group, has maintained its £1.4 million budget for staff development.
