Businesses looking at going green can find out about £1.2bn worth of environmental grants on a new website providing a free online information..

The Green Grants Machine has been pioneered by funding experts j4b to help private sector organisations access the latest details about funding available to improve their environmental performance and reduce their energy costs.

It is the first time that much of the information has been on a free online database instead of a subscription-only basis.

j4b has developed the free green grants site after noticing a rise in searches for environmental grants among its 180,000 users seeking community grants.

The information is updated daily and the website features more than 350 funding schemes available from local, regional, national and European sources.

The website also includes plain English advice about how any organisation can take simple actions to go green.

The site offers free access to information on the wide range of funding available to support businesses looking to go green, whether it is introducing an office recycling scheme or large scale initiatives such as generating energy from renewable sources.

The website also features a green funding news and grant alert service to make sure that users keep up with all the latest developments in environmental business funding.

The site can be found on greengrantsmachine.co.uk .
