Entrepreneur Patrick Windle has brought a taste of the past to Bradford with his new retro city centre milk bar.
He has opened Shaky Jakes in part of a converted book shop in Great Horton Road, at the heart of Bradford’s student quarter opposite the Bradford College Westbrook Building.
The milkshake and smoothie bar and ice cream parlour has a 1950s theme and also serves fresh coffee and American-style waffles.
Owners Patrick and business partner Katie Duxbury are hoping to replicate the success of their first Shaky Jake’s outlet in Headingley, Leeds.
Patrick, a Leeds Metropolitan University graduate, is hoping to tap into the city’s student population by providing a novel venue.
