Business chief and author Richard Harpin flew in by helicopter to speak to budding entrepreneurs at Craven College, Skipton.
Mr Harpin, chief executive of home emergency and repairs group HomeServe plc, dropped in to meet winners of a golden ticket in a recent competition set up by his charity, The Enterprise Trust, which encourages would-be entrepreneurs.
Free copies of Richard’s book A Mind For Business was sent to 6,500 schools and colleges. Those buying extra copies also had the chance to win the golden ticket and a visit from Mr Harpin, and Craven College won first prize.
The Enterprise Trust is a registered charity set-up in 2009 to encourage and support the next generation of entrepreneurs. It aims to provide entrepreneurs with advice and ideas to help them go about planning their business venture.
Richard Harpin built HomeServe into a £1.4 billion international business.
