A Shipley-based company has been awarded in recognition of its building maintenance division’s occupational health and safety performance.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and Severn Trent Water presented Bagnalls Group of Companies, a painting, specialist coatings and building maintenance contractor, with the Silver Achievement Award.
Bagnalls has a regional building maintenance contract with Severn Trent Water and undertakes maintenance work from changing a washer in a tap through to the planned refurbishment of a building and laying access roads.
Andrew Naylor, manager of Bagnalls building maintenance division, said: “With Severn Trent Water’s support over the years we have developed our safe systems of work to become a leading contractor on-site.
“We have shared best practice with our supply chain to ensure that they adopt our safe working practices and deliver their service in line with Severn Trent Water’s requirements.”
Bagnalls group managing director Stephen Bagnall said: “Safety is embedded in our company’s culture and will continue to be our number one priority.
“We directly employ all our operatives and invest in their ongoing training and skill development in order to ensure their safety and the safety of others while delivering our services.”
