Skipton-born Lucy Quinton has a way with figures – and she has an award to prove it.
The former Skipton Girls’ High School pupil achieved the top mark worldwide in her advanced audit exam, run by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
“ACCA has more than 390,000 students around the globe, so for Lucy to have gained top marks in this exam is a fantastic achievement,” said Andrew Leck, head of ACCA UK.
“She can be rightly proud of her award. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to pass the ACCA exams and even more to get top marks.”
Lucy, who works for John Laing Integrated Services in London, was also praised by the company’s finance director Dominic Jaques.
He said: “Lucy has worked extremely hard to combine her full-time financial role at John Laing with her accountancy studies.
“The role required her to support and educate non-finance individuals and develop a rapport with operational line managers to deliver improved financial performance.”
Lucy – who started her working career in internal audit at Skipton Building Society – has now been promoted to a new role as finance reporting and systems manager at John Laing.
