A security firm boss has presented his one-time mentor with a long-service award.
Installations engineer Peter Atkinson has clocked up 25 years at Keighley-based Keybury Fire & Security, which is run by managing director Frank Gee who he trained.
When Mr Gee launched Keybury in 1982 Peter, of Riddlesden, became his first employee.
Frank said: “I first met Peter when I was learning the ropes of the security industry with a national firm. He actually trained me and after founding Keybury almost 30 years ago Peter was the first person I employed.
“All our new trainees are placed with Peter for the first 12 months, such is his knowledge of installing alarms, coupled with his standards of best practice. He trains each engineer into the ‘Keybury’ way of doing things.
“Peter continues to be an integral member of the team and has played a major role both in developing the skills of our employees and enabling Keybury to become one of the longest established independent security companies in the UK.”
