A new Bradford-based human resources and recruitment business has kicked off by winning contracts with a number of football clubs.
Synergy People Solutions has signed deals with Bradford City, Bury, York City and Ossett Albion within a month of launching.
The new venture has brought together HR consultant, Brian Carlton and recruitment specialist, Billy Bingham who previously ran their own businesses. They decided to get together and combine their experience after meeting at events organised by networking organisation BNI.
Mr Carlton, who had the idea for the new business venture, said it was the realisation of a long-held dream.
He said: “I always wanted a business that was about more than just HR.
“Once Billy and I got talking it was clear he had the same idea for his recruitment company, and the Synergy concept was born.”
Synergy People Solutions aims to provide services to both small firms and larger companies covering recruitment of staff followed by continued human resources support.
Mr Carlton said: “Our combined experience means we can start helping businesses from the point at which they think they’re ready to recruit.
“By working closely with our clients we can help them identify when they need to recruit and at what level; then help them find, keep and develop the right people. Nobody is doing this for SMEs (small and medium enterprises) in the region.”
Mr Carlton has 15 years of HR expertise including time with UPS and global facilities management company, Aramark, and has run his own business for the last two years.
Bradford-born Mr Bingham has 12 years of recruitment industry experience and a track record in organisations such as Adecco.
He has also run his own recruitment business for the last three years.
Bradford City Football Club became Synergy’s first client and appointed it to manage its HR requirements.
Mr Bingham had previous experience in working with Bradford City and this helped to clinch the new contract.
David Baldwin, Bradford City chief executive, said the club was delighted with the deal.
He said: “We recognise as a club the need for having the right level of support to maintain our framework.
“The fact that Synergy is locally based and Billy has previous links with the club meant it was a no brainer choosing Synergy as our preferred HR partner.
“We’re looking forward to forming a long lasting relationship with them.”
Mr Carlton said Synergy had ambitious growth plans through offering a modular range of services suitable to businesses of all sizes.

I wonder if these guys will do a better job of things with Bradford City than Kalcrest did, I called them to register for work, and was met with the most rudest people not remotely bothered about my employment situation. Luckily I found employment via another Bradford based recruitment company, fortunately they're not all bad!"
