A print company that is adopting a green approach to business is celebrating after a successful first year at its Shipley base.

The Print Room moved from Ilkley to premises on Dockfield Road, Shipley, last year to accommodate new machinery.

The company, which produces a wide range of print from bespoke packaging to brochures and leaflets, has been developing a range of more environmentally friendly garment labels for a retail brand.

The firm, which uses vegetable based ink and recycled papers, is in line for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification which indicates that the paper can be traced back to a well-managed source.

Adam Butterfield, managing director, said: "The move into the FSC has added somewhat to our workload as strict procedures have to be followed, but it will reassure customers that paper is what it claims to be and allows them to use the FSC logo on their printed products."

He said that using environmentally friendly papers and inks did not substantially increase the cost of production or reduce quality.
