Videogame retailer Grainger Games closed its Bradford branch on Thursday amid reported financial difficulties.

A notice in the window thanked customers for their business and staff could be seen inside removing stock from shelves.

The notice said: "We're really sorry to tell you all that as of today we will be closed indefinitely. We know it may come as a shock, as it has to us but we were given no definite notice to the closure."

The Newcastle-based chain is understood to have closed all 67 of its branches across the north of England over the course of two days.

Lenders reportedly withdrew credit facilities from the company earlier this month.

Customers who had left deposits with the Bradford branch are advised to contact the firm's head office.
