A PUDSEY-based manufacturing firm has ploughed significant investment into the area as part of the business’ £1 million expansion.

ActionPlas, one of the UK’s largest speciality machinists and supplier of plastics, has increased its staff force, purchased new machinery and expanded its warehouse facilities by 13,000 square feet to 25,000 square feet.

The company specialises in the manufacture and supply of bespoke plastic components for the food and drink, automotive, pharmaceutical, print, leisure and personal care industries in the UK and across Europe.

Its managing director Chris Wray said: “In line with our growth strategy and to meet an increasing demand for our products, we have made significant investment in our workplace, machinery and personnel to allow for increased output, shorter lead times and the ability to take on more work.

“We’re confident that our continued investment in innovation and technology will help us achieve the growth in capacity and capability we need to support new projects, future-proof our business and ensure we can continue to offer our customers a complete, high-quality service, while remaining flexible to evolving trends.”

Large investment has been made to the ActionPlas workforce, which has grown by nine new employees since 2015, taking up roles across sales, human resources and production.

More positions are due to be announced, with vacancies at a regional and national level across sales, design and management.

The expansion into a new warehouse at its headquarters at ActionPlas Grangefield Industrial Estate in Richardshaw Road has led to growth in production and stock space.

New state-of-the-art machinery, including an innovative hybrid computer numerical control production system and a machining centre allows for increased processing speeds and greater milling capacity, to help the business to deliver on a growing order book with shorter lead times.
