A LOCAL educational and social care consultancy has been shortlisted for a national award for its improvement work with schools and academies across the region.

Cleckheaton-based Pivot has been shortlisted in the Advisory and Finance: Consultants for Education Institutions category in the EducationInvestor Awards, and will go up against big names such as Deloitte in the finals.

The Awards promote excellence and recognise innovation in the business of education. The winners of each category will be announced in December at a London ceremony.

The team boasts a wide range of experts such as therapists, clinical psychologists, SEND specialists and behaviour and welfare consultants.

Michael Smith, Pivot’s managing director, said: “Our overarching aim is to work with education providers and support them to improve, by developing good practice and challenging what needs to change, through the provision of a broad range of flexible, objective, carefully planned, relevant school improvement services.

“We want to bridge the gaps between public, private, social care and education sectors, through a solid business model that is underpinned by cutting edge support, early intervention and strategies that supports change and insists on success.

“Being shortlisted for this award reinforces our plans to expand and assist education institutions across the UK that require specialist education and social care support.”

Other nominees in the category include Cairneagle Associates, Carfax Project, Deloitte, Parthenon-EY and Shift Learning.
