A BRADFORD manufacturer has given its products a £2 million spring clean, as it motors ahead with a new logistics deal.

Astonish, which makes cleaning products at its base in Premier Point, Straithgate Lane, has completed a brand renovation, including a new brand identity, new-look pack designs and bespoke shrink sleeve, prism-shaped packaging.

The re-branding will be initially launched across its range of trigger sprays.

Howard Moss, Astonish managing director, said: “Our re-brand is so much more than just a new look that communicates what we stand for.

“When we set out on this journey we made the bold decision to move our trigger sprays into shrink sleeve packaging, a first for a challenger brand like ours.

“We know from experience that once consumers try our products they quickly become advocates. Put simply, we therefore need to stand out in what is a crowded market.

“We’ve certainly achieved this with our new look, which is proudly placed at the heart of our products; it reflects quality, confidence and delivers a strong shelf presence.”

Astonish makes a range of more than 70 products which are Vegetarian Society approved as well as being registered with the Vegan Society and Cruelty Free International.

It employs 72 people from its £4.5m factory near the M606 motorway.

Astonish, which started in 1973, also exports to around 40 countries worldwide including Japan, Central America and South Korea. Its products are sold by leading UK value chains, including Poundland and B&M Bargains and Ocado.

Meanwhile, Astonish has signed a three-year logistics contract with Expect Distribution, also based at Premier Point.

The two companies have already enjoyed a tie-up over the last six years, moving seven articulated lorry loads of goods each day.

Neil Rushworth, Expect Distribution managing director, said: “Two things are key for us at Expect; creating an industry-leading service and building long-term relationships.

“We have done this with Howard at Astonish over many years and it’s terrific for us to be working with a brand that is well recognised for the quality of its products.”

Expect Distribution received national recognition when it took home the prize for Business Excellence Award at the Motor Transport Awards, held in London earlier this month.
