HAVE you ever dreamed of working in one of the best local newsrooms in the country?

The Telegraph & Argus is offering two people a chance to join one of the country’s leading news organisations, Newsquest, as a multimedia journalism apprentice.

We are looking for keen would-be journalists who are interested in news, sport and feature writing to join our busy multimedia newsroom later this year.

The apprenticeship is open to candidates aged 18 or over with 5 GCSEs, including maths and English, a minimum of two A-levels or equivalent, and postgraduates. There is no upper age limit on candidates.

As a successful apprentice you will be paid to train as a journalist and study for an industry-accredited NCTJ Journalism diploma qualification. You will learn how to write for multimedia platforms, learn media law and ethics, court reporting, shorthand, public affairs and video journalism.

Working in a busy newsroom will give you an opportunity to develop your reporting skills in a wide range of subjects. Modern reporters need a wide range of skills and you will be shown how to take photographs and videos, and be given training to develop production skills so that you become a fully-equipped multimedia journalist.

Interested? Email a CV and cover letter explaining why you should be considered for this role to sue.bains@nqyne.co.uk no later than July 26.

The apprenticeship programme will start in September 2017.
