A CARPET and flooring company in Bradford is celebrating after moving to new premises and making significant investment on the back of fast-growing turnover.

The father and son-led business, Carpets and Floors Online, has seen income and demand rise since taking the company online almost two years ago.

Following the success of the move into the internet market, the company has moved into new premises in the Euroway Industrial Estate, and recently welcomed the arrival of a new made-to-order carpet cutting machine.

Harrison Fry, 24, who runs the company with his father Norman Fry, 52, had the idea to take the company online.

He is the third generation of the family to enter the carpet business, as his grandfather owned a carpet shop.

Mr Fry said: “We were working in a tiny warehouse and now 20 months down the line we have turned over £900,000 and moved to new premises.

“The new warehouse is about ten times the size of our old one.

“It means we can stock a lot more, have more vans, and have more staff, we have five extra staff now.

“We now also have a new cutting machine, whereas before we were cutting everything by hand, so our production will increase too.

“It’s fantastic and I can’t believe how quickly it has taken off, there was a lot of hard work and late nights, but it’s really worth it to be working out of a place this size.”

Mr Fry said in their old warehouse, sometimes when they were working late to meet orders they would have to cut carpets using car headlights to see, and often couldn’t see the warehouse floor as so much carpet was piled up.

The company delivers across the UK, mainly for residential use, and have made more than 3,000 sales in the last year.

“Since we moved into the new premises we’ve already seen a rise in customer satisfaction and sales,” added Mr Fry.

“With our new machine we’re now hoping to make deliveries in three days, down from a one-week turnaround, and to just keep growing the business.

“We just want to keep growing and expanding the business.”
