A SHIPLEY-based company is making travel for businesspeople easier after setting up an innovative app.

Automotive technology company Fleetondemand has set up Mobilleo, which they say could revolutionise the way business travellers plan and book their business journeys, saving millions of pounds in operational inefficiencies.

The technology used for Mobilleo shows the user the total cost of a journey for a business trip for each alternate travel route.

This will include thousands of car hire, train, flight, accommodation and taxi providers across the UK. The firms can then compare which method of transport is the most effective.

The app takes every part of a business journey and records, analyses and recommends all of them. This may include a businessperson’s itinerary, expense claims or financial analysis of their entire firm’s business travel.

The firm, which is based in Ashley Lane, was set up in 2011 and is the brainchild of Bradford-born businessman Justin Whitson.

He said: “Mobilleo is the first platform of its kind worldwide that provides business travellers with a one-click solution to find, book and pay for an entire business journey.

“We’re proud to be launching a potentially game-changing technology for businesses across the globe from our offices on the banks of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.”

Mr Whitson added: “We work with some of the biggest businesses in the country on a daily basis, so we’re very excited to be revealing our latest product to them this week.

“The amount of time and cost wasted in business spent simply on booking train tickets or organising travel arrangements is appalling.

“On an individual employee level this might not sound like a lot, but consider the enormity of the problem when you apply that wastage to an enterprise organisation with more than 3,000 employees.”

Fleetondemand is now one of the leading providers of enterprise cloud technology applications to vehicle leasing, rental and automotive service providers.

It already counts firms including Hitachi, RAC and Europcar as some of its clients.
