A WEDDING lighting business is in for a bright future after it won a UK award.

Wedding Venue Lighting, based in Cleckheaton, was presented with the best stand award at the I Do wedding fair, the UK’s wedding exhibition held in Leeds.

The firm, which employs seven people, beat off competition from 98 businesses who exhibited to win the award.

Its stand at the fair included star-cloth backdrops, dance floor and mirror photo booth, providing brides-to-be on the day with interactive fun.

Founder Matt Butcher, who started the business in 2003, said: “We were very pleased to win the award. It was worth all of the hard work.

“Business is very good. Last year was the best year we have had.

“Winning an award like this can only boost our profile. It’s getting bigger and bigger.”

Wedding Venue Lighting offers a range of products for weddings, including red carpets, festoon lanterns and dance floors, and the firm has also invested in a rustic dancefloor and five-foot illuminated LOVE letters.
