A BRADFORD-based logistics group is looking to China to generate nearly a third of its overseas growth following a new partnership deal.

Advanced Supply Chain, based on the Euroway trading estate, has agreed a strategic partnership with Chinese logistics agent, China Arts Intertrans. It expects the deal will secure around 30 per cent growth in its Chinese operation over three years and create a significant number of jobs both in the UK and China.

Advanced Supply Chain has opened an office in Guangdong, a province on the South China Sea coast, to complement its existing office in Shanghai.

The company announced in 2011 it had partnered with Sinotrans, China’s second largest logistics company. That relationship will continue to offer ASC’s customers with further options and opportunity in China.

Rory Watts, operations director of Advanced Forwarding Limited, ASC’s forwarding division, said: “This partnership gives us another foothold into China, as we continue our efforts to expand our operation internationally. Extending our coverage in the Far East allows our customers further options for sourcing from and delivering goods to the growing marketplace.

“China Arts Intertrans is a world class operator, and their business values reflect our personal service and intelligent approach to logistics services. Couple this with our new office and the specific functions we have there, and we are well placed to handle any Chinese warehousing, import or export needs of our customers.”

A China Arts Intertrans spokesman said: “It is fantastic to partner with such an innovative and ambitious business in the UK. The partnership is mutually beneficial, and we are sure we will see growth in our UK operations as a result.”

Advanced Supply Chain’s services include haulage, distribution, warehousing and logistics in the UK and internationally.

The business now has revenues of more than £50 million and is one of the fastest growing logistics and supply chain operators in the country, with a workforce of around 600 people.
