AN engineering firm with operations in Bradford has been rated top in its sector for training.

Quick Hydraulics, which is creating eight new jobs locally after opening in Bradford earlier this year, has received official endorsement from the British Fluid Power Association following a rigorous inspection process.

The BPFA endorsement makes Quick Hydraulics as the sector leader in hydraulic training.

Quick Hydraulics, part of the North East-based Altec Engineering Group, has 20 years of experience running City and Guilds-accredited, hydraulics training programmes.

Andrew Esson, managing director, said: “Receiving approval from the British Fluid Power Association is an important development for Quick Hydraulics, where we’ve been supporting businesses to manage and develop hydraulic capacity since the early 1980s.

“The company’s new premises in Bradford allow Quick Hydraulics to roll out training programmes for the benefit of business and industry across Yorkshire and the Humber.”

The business , which was founded on Tyneside more than 35 years ago, provides hydraulic service, repair and training to clients including Nissan, Caterpillar, British Engineering, Siemens Energy, Hartlepool Power Station and SMD.

Its range of practical, three-day hydraulic training programmes start with an entry-level introduction while the most advanced course offers design of hydraulic systems, advanced troubleshooting.

A full suite of training courses is available at the Quick Hydraulics Bradford site, which forms part of Altec Engineering Group’s 21,000 sq ft workshop on the Euroway estate where it operates alongside its sister company, precision engineering firm Sigma Technologies.

Alan Egglestone, engineering director, added : “Quick Hydraulics has been training our customers’ engineers for more than 20 years with our uniquely accredited, City and Guilds courses. “The British Fluid Power Association endorsement sets the company apart from its competitors and establishes it as a sector-leader in hydraulic training.”
