Astonish, based adjacent to the M606, will donate 4p a bottle from sales of 250,000 limited edition bottles of the cruelty free cleaner in a bid to raise £10,000 for the animal welfare charity.

The cleaner contains a non-bleach formula for use in areas used by children and pets..

Katy Clark ,Astonish head of marketing, said: “As a company that is Leaping Bunny Certified, approved by Cruelty Free International and the Vegetarian Society, as well as being Vegan Society approved, it is no secret that we are passionate about animals and their treatment.“

David Canavan, RSPCA acting chief executive ,said the £10,000 raised by Astonish would help towards the costs of running one of its animal centres for seven days.

"Information provided by Astonish shows that Astonish products do not contain animal ingredients and are not tested on animals, which makes this fundraising arrangement a perfect fit for the RSPCA,” he said.

The limited edition bottles of antibacterial cleanser are available in 99p Stores, Savers, B&M Bargains, ASDA, Tesco, The Range and Ocado .

Yorkshire Building Society's new two-year bond will pay annual interest at 2.25 per cent gross, fixed until November 30 2017 and the Society will make a one-off donation of 0.20 per cent of total deposits to Marie Curie after the product has been withdrawn.

The bond will support the Society’s Hour of Need campaign, which aims to raise £500,000 by December 2016, which equates to funding an hour of care by a Marie Curie Nurse for every hour of the campaign. More than £390,000 has already been raised

The limited issue Marie Curie Fixed Rate Bond can be opened with a minimum balance of £1,000 with a maximum of £2 million. The bond is available in branches, online and in agencies through the Yorkshire, and in branches and online through the Chelsea, the Barnsley and Norwich & Peterborough building societies.

Mike Regnier, YBS chief commercial officer, said: “Through our Hour of Need campaign we are having a real impact in our communities by funding Marie Curie nursing support for people with a terminal illness and their families.
