EXECUTIVES at a start-up Bingley design firm reached their £1,000 funding target to launch a new range of hand-made carbon fibre slimline wallets within four hours through a crowd-funding cam campaign.
Production design graduates James Whitfield and Sean Sykes have launched the design company Legacy and created Carbon, an ultra-slim wallet with a card ejection system making three stored cards easily accessible .
Carbon’s successful crowdfunding campaign attracted pledges worldwide and was the culmination of a six month research and development project .
The wallet is made using a metal core of aerospace grade aluminium and carbon fibre impregnated leather Legacy hand-crafts each wallet in the UK from locally sourced materials.
Sean Sykes said: “We wanted to create a wallet that has the same level of build quality with the same intuitive design found in high-end smart phones. Using the very latest materials and manufacturing techniques, we set out to make sure Carbon would stand the test of time and be in a league of its own in a, sadly, very disposable market.”
