AN ILKLEY businesswoman has put pen to paper to produce tips to help out ‘solopreneurs’.

Andi Lonnen, who runs her own financial training company, has had her first business book published.

‘Be Fabulous at Finance’ demystifies business finance in an easily digestible form for one-man brands.

The 41-year-old, who runs Andi Lonnen Business Associates (ALBA), is a regular speaker at high-profile conferences and as she continually delivers training around the UK she is in a good place to offer advice.

Her book is intended to answer the questions she is most frequently asked on her travels.

Ms Lonnen, a fully qualified FCCA accountant, set up ALBA in January 2013.

Active in her local Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, she has chaired their Business Leaders Forum, Yorkshire Women’s Network and currently sits on the organisation’s nationwide Corporate Sector Network panel.

Dedicated to improving the financial business skills and acumen of ambitious business owners, On her impressive roll-call of clients is the NHS. There will be the opportunity to win a free signed copy of her book at the Thrive Yorkshire Conference on Thursday, September 25 where she will be presenting a talk called ‘Catapult your Business Growth – Planning for Success’.

The conference will be held at The Craiglands Hotel, Cowpasture Road, Ilkley. Other speakers include Suzanne Johns of Approach PR. Ms Lonnen says she aims to “empower” businesses into making sound decisions to survive. She said: “With 80 per cent of businesses failing in their first 18 months, many due to poor cash flow, good finance means the difference between surviving and thriving.

“My book contains the most important elements to empower small businesses to make sound decisions that will not only sustain their businesses, but boost their growth. Crucially, this means better cash flow, including getting money in from even their slowest paying customers, planning for growth and improving profitability - a formula for success.”

This is the second book Ms Lonnen has written, her first was about cycling.

It was the courage to complete a 1,800 mile solo cycling tour that inspired her to set up her own business.

The paperback version of the book is priced £6.99 and can be ordered directly from Oodlebooks publishers and it is also available as an e-book on Amazon for £2.11. For more information, go to andilonnen.co.uk.
