STAFF at a Bradford-based bespoke ventilation systems manufacturer are boosting their career development prospects and qualifications through a partnership with aYorkshire-based training specialist.

Mansfield Pollard, based on Parry Lane, is working with Eden Training Solutions to enable staff to achieve NVQ levels 2 and 3 in a range of subjects alongside their ‘day jobs’. Employees can choose from courses, including warehouse and stock control, sales, ITQ, customer service and management.

Since the beginning of 2014, Mansfield Pollard has grown its workforce from 117 to 155 due to increasing demand.

Mansfield Pollard designs and manufactures bespoke equipment for hospitals, schools, supermarkets, leisure chains, food processors and the rapidly expanding data centre market throughout the world.

Products include ventilation and air conditioning systems, acoustic and anti-vibration equipment, controls, air-handling units and kitchen extraction canopies for customers including Rolls Royce, BMW, Astra Zeneca, Asda, Kelloggs and TGI Friday.

Meanwhile, the first intake of 50 advanced engineering apprentices have been recruited to a new £1 million Appris training centre in Laisterdyke, Bradford. The centre has been opened following investment by member companies and the Skills Funding Agency.

It will be available for research.
