Halifax Current Account Feature

Halifax

Once upon a time, heading to your local high street branch was the only way you could manage your current account. Of course, many people still like to make their transactions this way, but for those with little time on their hands, the internet has provided a simple alternative.

At Halifax, we have a dedicated online bank account service that allows our customers access to their accounts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This can come in handy if there just isn’t time to visit your local branch or if you suddenly wake at 3am worried that you didn’t pay your last gas bill.

In addition, online banking offers a great option for simply managing your money easily at a time that suits you. More than three million of our customers are already using the service, so why not join them?

Just like when you visit one of our high street branches, your online bank account will let you pay bills, transfer money or set up and amend standing orders and direct debits. However, having your account details to hand with just a few clicks of a mouse also means you can check your balance at any time of the day, instantly.

There are also lots of other extras you might find useful. Going on holiday? You can order travel money and have it delivered to your door - or pick it up at your local branch if you’d prefer. If you want to transfer money overseas, we can do that too. Requesting an overdraft, or applying to have your overdraft limit increased is also easy to do using the online service.

If you’re interested in signing up, but are worried it might be tricky to set up, don’t worry. It’s actually very simple to register and the process should take about five minutes. All you’ll need to do is make sure you’ve got your important details to hand, like your sort code and account number. If you’re planning to manage your credit card through your bank account, you’ll need the number for this too.

Of course, the internet will never replace a friendly face, so there will always be people who prefer to pop into their local branch. At Halifax, we’ll always be happy to help you bank this way – and you can drop in for a chat whenever you like. It’s really up to you.
