Ian Siragher, managing director of Agenda 1 Analytical Services, receives the award from Julian Rawel, from the University of Bradford School of Management
Business Or Technical Innovation Of The Year - Winner: Agenda 1 Analytical Services
Agenda 1 Analytical Services is a business at the cutting edge of technology, which is why it has won Business or Technical Innovation of the Year.
Since 2006, the team of experienced scientists – whose chief goal is to employ leading analytical techniques to support the development and launch of new products – has supported the development of new drugs and treatment that are marketed worldwide.
Speaking after being presented with the award, managing director Ian Siragher said: “We’re really pleased to win this award and to be recognised in Bradford in this way – for the staff more than anything. They’ve worked extremely hard over the last five years and we feel really proud.”
The company, which provides ‘time share’ laboratories as well as scientific expertise to international clients, was launched by Ian and Simon Bistow, operations director, after the closure by its US owners of Bradford Particle Design Ltd.
They acquired the laboratories and developed the concept of offering the labs for research, testing and product development, mainly for pharmaceutical firms.
Agenda 1 scientists help client companies to develop new drugs using their laboratories, industry knowledge and experience, which can help set up pharmaceutical businesses as well as global organisations.
From their base on the Bradford Science Park, Ian said the company’s success was its ability to look at things from a “new point of view”.
The company has worked on projects including testing solvents in a surgical foil product to meet Federal Drug Agency standards in the United States, and on a bone substitute product.
Ian received the award on behalf of the company from Julian Rawel, director of executive education at the University of Bradford School of Management.
