Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Manufacturer of the Year

THIS award recognises an outstanding company operating in a sector that is the backbone of the Bradford district’s economy.

Judges will look for a record of success, innovation and growth, together with future potential and a positive impact on the community.

The winner might be a long-standing company that has weathered various economic storms and adapted to survive and continue, or it might be among the new breed of manufacturing firms establishing themselves during some of the worst economic times of recent memory.

Christeyns UK was crowned the Manufacturer of the Year at last year’s ceremony. NickFounded in 1875, Christeyns is one of Bradford’s oldest manufacturing companies.

Today its principal focus is the supply of detergents, supporting chemicals and engineering expertise for the commercial laundry sector across the UK. It has an additional focus on manufacturing chemicals for the construction sector.

The company invests heavily in its employees and four years ago introduced an apprenticeship programme.

Christeyns is looking towards sustainable growth and its focus is on the export market.
