THERE'S still time for companies and individuals to enter this year's Bradford Means Business Awards which celebrate the district's success stories.

Once again, the Telegraph & Argus has partnered with Bradford Council and Bradford Chamber of Commerce to present the 2016 awards.

With 11 categories there’s something for every business or entrepreneur, whether they are a new start-up or an established manufacturer.

Nominations and entries are being accepted until March 24 and the awards will culminate in a glittering ceremony on Saturday June 11, which will be held at the Aagrah Midpoint Suite in Thornbury.

The Bradford Means Business Awards aim to give much-deserved recognition to those businesses, large and small, and those entrepreneurs, new or established, who have not only survived some of the worst trading conditions for decades, but forged ahead.

T&A editor Perry Austin-Clarke said: “When we started these awards, we knew there were a lot of strong companies and ambitious business people in the Bradford district.

“But over the past years, the numbers and strength of entries have delighted and surprised us, year after year.

“Once again, we’ll be asking our readers to nominate the businesses which offer great customer service in our best Retail and Hospitality businesses category and also asking workers to put in a good word for their bosses in the Employer of the Year category.”

Businesses that think they’re eligible for more than one category can fill in a form for each individual award.

The judges reserve the right to move entrants to different categories if they think they fulfil the criteria for other awards.

Among entries received so far, we have nominations for two outstanding youngsters in the Apprentice of the Year category - Shannon Hawker of Silsden publishing business Authors Abroad and trainee joiner Cieran Marshall at furniture and fittings firm Jonathan Carey Design Ltd in Cross Hills .

Robin Wright will be among those vying for the Business Personality title. He has worked for the historic firm Wyedean Weaving in Haworth for more than 30 years, working his way to the top job.

Bradford Brewery, which recently marked its first anniversary by announcing expansion plans, and the Guzelian cafe bar in Bradford are among those nominated in the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure category - were we ask readers to nominate their favourite venues.

Law firm boss Nasreen Karim and cosmetics entrepreneur Safian Aziz are nominees for the Businesswoman of the Year award.

The deadline for all entries is Thursday, March 24 - full details can be found at telegraphandargus.co.uk/bradfordmeansbusiness
