Working part time at First Direct Bank, with three young children, she started selling a few things through online auction site eBay and capitalised on the lingerie market after spotting a gap.

JESSICA KING

JESSICA’S love of animals and concerns for pet welfare drove her to open King’s Pet Palace, in Kirkgate Market, Bradford.

Despite her welfare ethos including not selling pets in the shop, she has built up a stable customer base. She overhauled the stock to improve food on sale to promote better animal nutrition and the removal of any harsh training tools.

Her plans for 2017 include looking at the boarding of rescue animals and more educational aspects to her business.
